Mt Cooroora, the mountain in Pomona after which Cooroora Anglican Parish is named

Mt Cooroora. It is after this mountain, just outside the hinterland town of Pomona, that Cooroora Anglican Parish is named

The Anglican Parish of Cooroora, part of the Diocese of Brisbane, covers the Noosa hinterland, incorporating the townships of Cooroy, Pomona, Eumundi, Cooran, Kin Kin and Boreen Point and their surrounding areas.

The population is around 6,500 people, including the outlying areas but is developing rapidly as new migrants move into the area, mostly from Victoria and New South Wales. Many were church members in their old communities and move easily into the Cooroora congregations, which are known for their friendliness and welcoming attitude to newcomers.

If you are visiting our region, please come and worship with us. If you are moving here, then “Welcome!” We hope fit easily into our community and our church will become your church also.

Our Parish Prayer

Praise to you, Father God, for the life you have given us and the fellowship we share. Bless this parish in which we live, make us sound in faith, holy in life and unselfish in heart, that we may serve you in truth and know your blessing as your children. Grant us, Lord, a steadfast heart in serving you, an understanding mind in knowing you and a loving spirit in embracing you, for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

COMBINED EUCHARIST FOR
GOOD SHEPHERD SUNDAY

Our next parish combined Holy Communion service will be marking Good Shepherd Sunday on Sunday 3rd May at 10am at The Church of the Good Shepherd, cnr Memorial Ave and Rectory St, Pomona. This will be followed by lunch and will be a great day to join us for worship and to have a look through our newly renovated rectory.
