Mt Cooroora. It is after this mountain, just outside
the hinterland town of Pomona, that
Cooroora Anglican Parish is named

The Anglican Parish of Cooroora, part of the Diocese of Brisbane, covers the Noosa hinterland, incorporating the townships of Cooroy, Pomona, Eumundi, Cooran, Kin Kin and Boreen Point and their surrounding areas.

The population is around 6,500 people, including the outlying areas but is developing rapidly as new migrants move into the area, mostly from Victoria and New South Wales. Many were church members in their old communities and move easily into the Cooroora congregations, which are known for their friendliness and welcoming attitude to newcomers.

If you are visiting our region, please come and worship with us. If you are moving here, then “Welcome!” We hope fit easily into our community and our church will become your church also.

Welcome to the web site of the Anglican Parish of Cooroora

It is a pleasure to welcome you to our parish web site. We hope you will find details about the groups that sustain our life together.

I am encouraged by the active and committed worshipping communities in our four churches (Cooroy, Kin Kin, Pomona and Boreen Point). Each community has their own distinct life and style that we hope reflects the wider local community in each town. We are committed to our Anglican heritage, which brings with it a wealth of spirituality tapping into the deep mystery of God, finding its expression in our ordered, yet relevant, worship. We also strive to be supportive and nurturing of each other in our faith journey.

Visitors often reflect to me that they find in our churches welcome and hospitable communities and I invite you to experience that same welcome as we gather together in God's name. Each church is a place to bring your questions about God and to join us in our search for how and where God is active in our lives now.

I look forward to hearing from you by phone 07 5485 1218 or by email.

With God's blessing
Julie
