Cooroy church ‘on fire’ for Pentecost

The Church of the Holy Nativity, Cooroy was specially decorated to celebrate Pentecost Sunday on May 23rd. Bright red, orange and yellow balloons festooned the pews as symbols of the fire of the Holy Spirit. The Revd Julie asked parishioners to remove their shoes for the service as a novel approach to drawing attention to the message of her sermon.

Pentecost Sunday celebrates the giving of the Holy Spirit to the Apostles following the resurrection and ascent of Christ.
